"What Happened To You? An Exploration of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trust Based Relational Intervention" Presented by John Newman and Kristine Newman.

Summary: The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study is one of the largest investigations ever conducted to assess the connection between childhood trauma and lifelong health issues and overall well-being. This training will provide foundational knowledge about the impact that ACEs can have on brain architecture and the social, cognitive & emotional functioning of children. This training will also present research-based methods and strategies to prevent and mitigate the harmful impact of ACEs on children. Notably, approximately 45% of those who are incarcerated nationally have 4 or more ACEs. Adverse Childhood Experiences have continuing effects well into adulthood.
