Scholarships

In 2019, the Lafayette Bar Association is celebrating our Fiftieth Anniversary of serving the legal needs of our community.  To commemorate this milestone and on behalf of its members, we are honored to be able to provide a $12,200.00 scholarship, payable over four years, to a worthy freshman applying to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette who meets our selection criteria.



Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
1. Must be an incoming freshman student from a Lafayette Parish High School
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen
3. Must have achieved at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 unweighted scale
4. Must have an ACT composite of 24 or higher and/or greater than an SAT score of 1160

NOTE: Consideration will be given to a student who has contributed through community services; who is “at risk”
by virtue of family or economics situation. “At risk” will be defined as a student with at least one of the following
factors: financial hardship, emotional stresses, environmental negatives, or family circumstances.

Student do not have to declare as pre-law or any specific major to be eligible for the scholarship.

Applications must be sent in or postmarked by Friday, April 5th, 2019.
