ABOUT THE EVENT

The Lafayette Bar Foundation will be hosting a FREE Civil Federal Program Panel CLE presented by Judge Robert Summerhays on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at noon at the Lafayette Bar Association.

The CLE will address the new Civil Federal Pro Bono Program Panel at the Lafayette Bar Foundation.  The Panel is being formed to assist inmates who cannot afford private counsel in prosecuting their cases and to provide pro bono attorneys with an opportunity to gain experience in federal court, particularly during jury trials.  Generally, these cases are civil rights claims brought by inmates under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, challenging the conditions of confinement or the use of force. The CLE will cover the obligations of the panel members, the time commitment of the cases,  reimbursement of costs and expenses, and much more.

If you choose to participate via Zoom, you will recieve a link once you register.
