What is Bench Bar?
The Bench Bar Conference is a three-day conference that offers a variety of Continuing Legal
Education (CLE) courses. Topics for the sessions range in subject, including sessions on
ethics and professionalism. Complete with social events each day, the conference is a valuable
networking experience. You will have the opportunity to build new professional relationships
and meet new contacts, including special guest judges who will be in attendance.

Do I pay for the conference and my hotel room separately?
Unless you are a judge registering for the conference, the answer is YES! You must pay for
your conference registration and hotel room accommodations separately. Rooms will now be booked
separately to give attendees more flexibility. The registration rates for the conference are
included on the registration form. ONLY payment and registration are to be sent to the LBA.
Hotel accommodations must be made through the Houstonian Hotel.
How do I make hotel accommodations?
The 2018 Bench Bar Conference will be moving “out west” this year to the Houstonian Hotel
in Houston, Texas. To make reservations, call the Houstonian Hotel at (713) 685-6810 (Main
Number) or (800) 231-2759 (Room Reservations) and identify yourself as part of the Lafayette
Bar Association to receive the discounted rate of $209.00 plus tax for a standard room. Note:
The discounted rate will expire on Wednesday, January 3rd. After this date, registration may be
transferred to a colleague, but not canceled or refunded.
How do I register for the conference?
To download a registration form on our website, www.lafayettebar.org. From the home page,
click on the Bench Bar tab. Mail in your registration form along with payment to the Lafayette
Bar Association, Attn: Events, 2607 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503. You may also
submit your registration by fax (337) 237-0970 or email (email@example.com). Payment can
be made in person, by mail, or over the phone. Members can be invoiced.
