From LADC: It's Our Turn to Help
As the TADC helped us in our time of need following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, it's time for us to return the favor. Below is a message from Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel to members who are looking for a way to help with the continuing recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
"Dear LADC Members,
As you know, Hurricane Harvey did substantial damage and upended lives in Texas. Many parts of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city, were flooded. Houston was not, of course, the only Texas city that suffered great damage and loss.
In 2005, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel (TADC) reached out to us after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and provided assistance to our affected members. The LADC was founded with the help of the TADC, and our ties have been very close through the years. In Februrary 2018, we will have our second joint Winter & Ski Meeting with the TADC. TADC helped us in our time of need, and now it is our opportunity to be good neighbors and friends.
Almost one-third of the TADC members have been affected by Harvey. We have had discussions with the TADC leadership about how we can help. As a result, the LADC has established a special checking account at Chase. LADC members may write a check to the LADC with a notation "Hurricane Harvey Relief" and we will deposit the check in the account. On Oct. 20, we will present a check to the TADC in the amount of all funds that we have raised to be used by the TADC to help its members.
Please write a check today and send it to the LADC at P.O. Box 9430, Metairie, LA 70055.
