Here are some ways you can help in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey from the Catholic Services of Acadiana.

This overview and orientation to our Diocesan Disaster Response Program. The multi-skill training will be led by our Executive Director, Kim Boudreaux, and Director of Operations, Sarah Clement and our Disaster Response Coordinator, Tony Credeur. You will learn information about disaster relief, such as sandbagging, collecting and distributing donations, inventory management, mucking out houses, and long term recovery. We will also discuss what it means to be a Catholic Charities Disaster Response volunteer.

Red Cross Shelter Operations Training

Wednesday, August 30th at 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
 
In partnership with Red Cross, we will provide in depth training for Catholic Charities volunteers who would like to have a more hands on involvement in disaster relief. You will learn how to help coordinate a shelter, which involves registering clients, coordinating meals, and meeting other needs. Working in an emergency shelter, you will be able to talk with clients and provide emotional support.

United Way of Acadiana Flood the Love Event

United Way of Acadiana is collecting donations for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. United Way has requested volunteers to manage donation inventory and handle distribution.
