LBA Celebrates Law Week

This first week of May was a busy one for Lafayette Bar.
This first week of May was a busy one for Lafayette Bar. It started out with a general membership meeting at Abacus that was paired with a CLE presented by LSU Law Professor Paul Baier. He had a very warm welcome considering several LBA members who were in attendance were former students of his. He signed copies of his own book entitled Speeches after the presentation.

The next event for the week was the Last Appointment social at Bart Bernard's office. The members enjoyed food and drinks at this Cinco de Mayo themed fiesta before heading out to Rhythms on the River to end the night. Thanks to the Law Offices of Bart Bernard and McNabb Rehabilitation Services for Sponsoring this event.

Rounding off the week all day on Friday was the Running in Heels Women's Issues CLE. Many of LBA's female members attended this seminar with speakers including: Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Jeannette Theriot Knoll, Dr. Michelle Carr, Dr. Mary Farmer-Kaiser, Marcelle Fontenot, Valerie Gotch Garrett, Franchesca Hamilton- Acker, Mimi Methvin, Sharon Moss and Cynthia Simon Spadoni.

Please check our calendar for upcoming events and watch your email for announcements regarding CLE opportunities and other LBA affairs.
