Lafayette Bar Foundation

About The Foundation

The Foundation is dedicated to helping those in our community in need of legal advice, questions and counsel.  We offer a variety of services to the public, free of charge. The programs are made possible with grants funded by the Louisiana Bar Foundation and Acadiana Legal Services Corportion.

•    The H.E.L.P. Program:  This program is dedicated to helping area homeless get certified copies of their birth certificates so they can prove their identity.

•    Protective Orders: Our volunteer attorneys will help victims of domestic abuse navigate the complicated proceedings surrounding Protective Orders and Temporary Restraining Orders.

•    Counsel on Call:  This program is aimed at answering legal questions for people who are representing themselves in a court of law.

•    Free Legal Seminars: To help educate the public on legal matters, free legal seminars are hosted frequently in the community.
