The Lafayette Bar Association is pleased to present a unique opportunity for you to earn 5.0 hours of CLE credit while also completing the required course work to obtain your Louisiana Concealed Weapons Permit. Please join us on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Barney’s Police Supplies & Indoor Range.
The course is appropriate for beginner shooters, as well as those with firearms experience. The tactical portion of the course provides step-by-step procedures for safe gun handling and successful target acquisition. For experienced gun owners it provides a good review plus opportunity to learn and practice several tactics for shooting from concealment. If you own a serviceable handgun, bring it with you the day of the course. You will need at least 36 rounds of ammo for the qualification course. Loaner firearms are available for non-gun owners and ammunition for most standard firearms may be purchased on-site.
The classroom phase of the course includes detailed instruction on gun safety and handling and a comprehensive review of federal and state regulations governing ?rearms. The CLE portion of the program will include various Louisiana laws concerning concealed weapons, firearms purchase, self-defense, transporting of firearms, and interacting with law enforcement, but will be taught with an eye toward educating practitioners. Emphasis is placed on Louisiana concealed carry regulations and discussion of recent Louisiana case law.
NRA Instructor Caleb Morse and a panel of outstanding local guest speakers will provide six separate lessons throughout the day including the 5 hours of CLE and target shooting. The road to responsible gun ownership begins with proper education and training. Join us and register today! Participation is limited to 30 attendees.
