Courthouse Closure Notice for February 17, 2017

This is to notify you that all offices within the Lafayette Parish Courtshouse will be closed for business on Friday, February 17.
The following notice was received today from the Lafayette Parish Courthouse:

The Lafayette Clerk of Court's office will begin physically moving staff and equipment from the 6th and 7th floors to the 1st and 2nd floors during the four-day period of February 17 through February 20.  
 
Having been advised that it is hazardous or unsafe for the general public to conduct business with the Clerk's office during this move, the Chief Judge has signed an emergency closure order to close the courthouse.
 
This is to notify you that all offices within the Lafayette Parish Courthouse will be closed for business on Friday, February 17. 
Also -- be aware that any phone or email/internet service that is provided by the Lafayette Clerk will be inoperable during the move.
 
The courthouse will reopen for business as usual on Tuesday, February 21 (Monday, Feb. 20 is a court holiday).
