Photos from Lafayette Bar Auxiliary Taste Treat Luncheon

As though scripted from a Nicholas Sparks book-turned-movie, this spring, the ladies of the Lafayette Bar Association Auxiliary held their annual Taste Treat luncheon at the decadent A. Hays Town home of Lea Ann and Mike Remondet. Each year, wives of local attorneys and some female attorneys dress in their finest spring fashions and gather to share recipes for the annual Taste Treat Cook Book which always includes some mouthwatering inventions that are sampled at the story book southern fete. This year’s event was a celebration of the organization’s 50th year in existence.

The southern punch and its eight fruity ingredients, engineered by Stephanie O’Pry kept partygoers from getting thirsty while the Caprese Bites prepared by Lisa Boudreaux added a bit of Italian flair to the menu. The Southern Sugar Pecan Spinach Salad recipe from Darcy Logan should go down in history, and Judy Mahtook’s Shrimp Creole could not be topped.

Through the sales of event tickets, cook books, and taste treat customized aprons, the ladies generated funds to support work of the bar foundation’s protective order panel which helps victims of domestic violence find protection through a Title 46 protective order.
